Our overnight camel trek in Merzouga is less of a tour and more of an invitation to slow down. You won't just see the Sahara Desert—you will feel it.
Upon arrival, we welcome you with a traditional glass of Moroccan mint tea before meeting your camel guide. As the sun begins to drop, you'll head into the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. The light on the sand at this hour is unlike anything else on Earth, shifting from pale gold to a deep, glowing orange.
At our traditional camp, you'll enjoy a home-cooked Moroccan feast, listen to the rhythmic beat of Berber drums around the fire, and sleep in a place where the only light comes from the stars. Whether you are looking for peace or adventure, this is the night your Morocco trip becomes unforgettable.
Honest note: This is a camping experience in the desert, not a hotel. Standard tents have real beds and shared bathroom facilities. If you need en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and air conditioning, upgrade to our luxury desert camp. The dunes are beautiful, but they are also sandy—expect to find sand in your shoes for the next two days. It's part of the experience.

DAY 1 - Merzouga ⇢ Camel Trek ⇢ Desert Camp
Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. After mint tea and a short rest, meet your camel guide and head into the dunes as the sun begins to set. The trek takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the camp location — long enough to fully experience the desert, but not so long that it becomes uncomfortable.
Stop along the way for sunset photos—the light on the Erg Chebbi dunes at this hour changes the color of the sand in ways that are genuinely difficult to describe. At camp, settle in, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and gather around the fire for Berber drumming. When the music winds down, the desert becomes hushed. Look up.

DAY 2 - Sahara Sunrise ⇢ Return to Merzouga
Set your alarm. The Sahara sunrise is one of those things that photos never quite capture—the way the light slowly spreads across the dunes while the whole desert shifts color in complete silence. After breakfast at camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4—your choice—where the experience ends.
Return option: Return by camel, or upgrade to a
quad bike ride for an even more exciting experience.
