Departure: 6:00–7:00 AM from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive south through the High Atlas Mountains. You will ascend the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, with stops for panoramic photos of Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.
Continue to the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of the best-preserved fortified villages in Morocco. Explore its narrow alleys and mud-brick architecture—this iconic site has appeared in Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones.
After lunch near Ouarzazate, the journey continues toward the Sahara. Depending on the season and road conditions, your route may pass through the Draa Valley (Morocco's longest river valley, lined with millions of palm trees) or via the Dades Valley and Tinghir.
By late afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga, where the landscape transforms into the towering golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, your camel caravan awaits. You'll ride for roughly an hour and a half into the desert as the sun sets, painting the dunes in shades of gold, orange, and violet. You will have time for photos and optional sandboarding.

You will arrive back at your Marrakech hotel or riad in the late evening, usually between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, depending on traffic and stops.
