Tour Overview

This 8-day Morocco desert tour from Casablanca combines Morocco's historic cities, mountain scenery and Sahara Desert in one private itinerary.

Start in Casablanca and visit the Hassan II Mosque before continuing to Rabat and the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes, then spend a full day discovering the historic Fes medina with a local guide.

From Fes, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou before continuing through Midelt and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga.

In the Sahara, enjoy a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, try sandboarding and spend the night in a luxury desert camp with a private bathroom. The following days take you through Rissani, Erfoud, Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley, followed by Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains before reaching Marrakech.

This is a private tour designed for travelers who want to experience several of Morocco's major highlights in eight days while having their own vehicle and flexible itinerary.

Honest note: This is a moving tour. You change accommodation six times in eight days, and Day 4 involves roughly seven hours of driving to reach the desert. The scenery is spectacular — Ifrane, Azrou, the Ziz Valley — but if you prefer a slower pace with two nights in each city, consider our 10-day grand tour. If you want to see Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara, and Marrakech in one week, this is the most efficient route possible. Also: this is a private tour, not a group bus trip. The price reflects the cost of a dedicated vehicle and driver for eight days. If you are looking for a budget group departure, we are not the right fit.

This itinerary covers Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, Fes, the Middle Atlas, the Sahara Desert (Merzouga), Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Aït Ben Haddou, and Marrakech.

Day 4 is the longest at roughly 7–8 hours (Fes to Merzouga), but broken up with stops in Ifrane, Azrou, and the Ziz Valley. Most other days range from 3 to 6 hours. Because this is a private tour, we can add extra stops or break the drive into two shorter legs if you prefer.

No. We only operate private tours. You will not be joined by other travelers. This is why our pricing is per vehicle/group rather than per seat.

Yes. This is a private tour, so stops, pacing, and routing can all be adjusted. Want an extra night in the desert or a stop at Ouzoud Waterfalls? Let us know when you book.

No. If you would rather not ride a camel, a 4×4 transfer directly to the desert camp can be arranged at no extra charge. Just let us know in advance.

Yes. This is a private tour, so the pace is yours to set. The Barbary macaques in Azrou, the camel trek, and the desert camp are particularly popular with families.

Comfortable walking shoes for medina and gorge visits, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Nights in the desert and Chefchaouen can be cool even in summer, so bring a warm layer. A scarf is useful for dusty roads and windy dunes.

No. Entrance fees to monuments, museums, and film studios are not included. Your guide will advise on costs at each stop. Budget roughly €10–€15 total per person for all sites.

Yes. Let us know your dietary requirements when booking, and we will arrange suitable meals for all included dinners.

We use modern, air-conditioned SUVs or minivans depending on group size. All vehicles are comfortable for long drives and have plenty of luggage space.

The 10-day tour adds Essaouira on the Atlantic coast and includes an extra night in Marrakech for a more relaxed pace. The 8-day tour covers the same imperial cities and Sahara but moves faster. If you want to see the coast, choose the 10-day tour. If you are limited to one week, the 8-day is the most complete option available.

Citizens of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and most EU countries do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. A passport valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date is required.
