What to Expect on Your 2-Hour Quad Bike Adventure
There is a specific kind of freedom that comes from twisting the throttle on an ATV with nothing but dunes in every direction. This two-hour route takes you deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes — not just the gentle slopes near the village, but the higher, steeper faces where the sand changes color from pale gold to burnt orange as the sun moves.
You will ride your own quad, following a local guide who knows which dunes are safe to climb and which routes offer the best views without the crowds. We stop at two or three panoramic viewpoints for photos and to let the engines cool. The pace is flexible: if you want to open it up on the flat stretches, you can. If you prefer a slower ride to take it all in, that works too.
No previous experience is needed. We start with a short briefing and a practice loop on flat ground before heading into the dunes. By the time you return to base, you will have sand in your hair, a grin on your face, and about a hundred photos.
Honest note: This is an active, outdoor adventure. You will get dusty — possibly very dusty. If you have back or neck issues, the bumps in the dunes can be jarring. We provide helmets and goggles, but closed-toe shoes are essential. Leave your nice clothes at the hotel.
